LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE<\/a>) Lahore is taking a <\/span>giant<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>leap<\/span>\u00a0forward by digitalizing academic degrees.\u00a0<\/span>All certificates issued by the board\u00a0<\/span>from now on\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>have<\/span>\u00a0a QR code<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0will\u00a0<\/span>be<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>verified<\/span>\u00a0online<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is a game-changer, as it will help eliminate the production of fake documents.\u00a0<\/span>It<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>offer<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>online\u00a0<\/span>record<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in a QR code format\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0<\/span>could<\/span>\u00a0be used\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>verification<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>purposes<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>easily<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>confirm<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>whether<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>degree<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>obtained<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>from<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>institution<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>authentic<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Federal and Sindh governments are also <\/span>collaborating<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with this\u00a0<\/span>plan<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>under<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the Uraan Pakistan project<\/a>, and will be\u00a0<\/span>digitizing<\/span>\u00a0roll number slips and result cards\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0QR codes.<\/span><\/p>\n

This\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>going<\/span>\u00a0to bring a lot of transparency and efficiency to the education system. However,\u00a0<\/span>one<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>thing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>note here is\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0<\/span>all those\u00a0<\/span>institutions\u00a0<\/span>which<\/span> require degree verification through the Higher Education Commission (HEC) will still have to do that <\/span>separately.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
