{"id":62005,"date":"2025-01-10T10:53:06","date_gmt":"2025-01-10T05:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=62005"},"modified":"2025-01-10T10:53:06","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T05:53:06","slug":"pia-resumes-direct-flights-to-paris-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pia-resumes-direct-flights-to-paris-today\/","title":{"rendered":"PIA resumes direct flights to Paris today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pak\u00adistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to resume its <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/gwadar-bound-pia-flight-makes-emergency-landing\/\">direct flights<\/a> to Paris on Friday (today) following the four-and-a-half-year ban.<\/p>\n<p>The relaunch follows the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/easa-lifts-ban-on-pia-flights-to-europe\/\">European Aviation Safety Agency\u2019s<\/a> (EASA) decision to lift the ban on Pakistani airlines, allowing them to operate in EU countries. The ban was imposed in 2020 following a PIA plane crash in Karachi that killed 97 people and other administrative and operational issues.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the national flag carrier said the first flight, PK-749 will take off from Islamabad International Airport at 12:10 pm on Friday, carrying 330 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, two weekly flights will operate on Fridays and Sundays, with plans to gradually increase the frequency, it added.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the rela\u00adunch, PIA has decorated the aircraft with a model of the Eiffel Tower on its tail and the slogan \u201cI Love Paris\u201d on the nose.<\/p>\n<p>Avi\u00adation Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Secretary Aviation, PIA Acting CEO Air Vice Marshal <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/air-vice-marshal-amir-hayat-reappointed-as-acting-pia-ceo\/\">Amir Hayat<\/a>, and other senior officials will see off the flight.<\/p>\n<p>A PIA spokesperson said, &#8220;The Boeing 777 of PIA will depart for Paris fully loaded,&#8221; adding that the new service has been received with a warm welcome from the passengers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The next four flights are also fully booked in advance We anticipate strong demand for this route in the coming months,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>For maximum experience, the airline has introduced a wireless in-flight entertainment system on the route, allowing passengers to access entertainment on their own devices.<\/p>\n<div class=\"vc_row_inner tdi_75  vc_row vc_inner wpb_row td-pb-row\">\n<div class=\"vc_column_inner tdi_82  wpb_column vc_column_container tdc-inner-column td-pb-span8\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner\">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_85 td-pb-border-top single-content td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_85\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>Meanwhile, the national airline has also announced launching new domestic and international flights to expand its operations.<\/p>\n<p>Starting January 20, PIA will operate two weekly flights between Sialkot and Bahrain.
