{"id":62083,"date":"2025-01-11T11:07:43","date_gmt":"2025-01-11T06:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=62083"},"modified":"2025-01-11T11:07:43","modified_gmt":"2025-01-11T06:07:43","slug":"cda-plans-underpass-on-murree-road-srinagar-highway-junction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad\/cda-plans-underpass-on-murree-road-srinagar-highway-junction\/","title":{"rendered":"CDA plans underpass on Murree Road-Srinagar Highway junction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to contrast an underpass on the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/islamabad-introduces-new-speed-limits-for-major-roads-highways\/\">Murree Road-Sringagar Highway junction<\/a> to facilitate motorists coming from Murree.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, vehicles coming from Murree and other adjoining areas don&#8217;t have direct access to Srinagar Highway, rather they use the Kashmir Chowk roundabout to take a turn to enter the latter highway.<\/p>\n<p>The civic agency said that the motorists will have direct access to Srinagar Highway after the underpass on Murree Road.<\/p>\n<p>CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa visited the junction on Thursday to discuss and review the proposed solution considering the pressing traffic issue.<\/p>\n<p>According to the press release, &#8220;CDA chairman directed that the proposed underpass at the junction of the two busy roads should be integrated with the Serena Chowk Interchange project for enhanced connectivity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>During a briefing, the Randhawa was informed that the soil testing for the construction of the underpass had already commenced.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Additionally, work on the feasibility, design, and planning of the project is underway.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He further emphasised that the completion of the underpass will offer a long-term solution to Islamabad\u2019s traffic challenges.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Once the underpass is operational, all traffic from Murree to Srinagar Highway will be signal-free,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the civic agency is constructing the Serena Interchange project, worth Rs4.2 billion on Srinagar Highway.
