Nauman, Convener at Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/kp-launches-ehasaas-apna-ghar-scheme-for-affordable-housing\/\">NAPHDA<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\"> The\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">key<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0recommendations include\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">a<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">single<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">digit\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">policy rate<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">,<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">rationalization<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">of<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">operational<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">cost<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">for<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">banks, and resumptions <\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">resumption<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">markup\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">subsidy<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">on<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0low-cost and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/punjab-extends-property-tax-to-housing-societies-beyond-cities\/\">affordable housing<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">It<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">has<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">also<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">proposed<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">mortgage bonds, microfinance i<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">nstitution<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">, and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">foreclosure laws.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">It<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">was<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">also\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">suggested<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0that\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">the &#8220;<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">banks\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">should\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">allocate\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">at least\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">10% of their private sector credit to the Housing and Construction Industry and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">put<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">in place\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">a Risk Management Framework to mitigate\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">risks associated with mortgage financing&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">They <\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">further<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">proposed\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">strengthening the Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">through budgetary support and enhanced\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">coordination<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">between<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0banks and financial institutions for subsidized credit facilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">The group also proposed awareness campaigns and financial literacy programs\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">for<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">consumers<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">and<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">product<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">development of innovative mortgage financing products to\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">address<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">the<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">needs of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">all income groups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">Dr. Faisal Shafaat, the representative of the State Bank of Pakistan,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">said that\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">the capital adequacy ratio has been\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">increased<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0to 35 percent<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">that\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">the banking sector has\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">managed<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">to disburse Rs. 233 billion in mortgage financing. He\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">further<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">said<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">the microfinance policy of SBP,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">under\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">which\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">Rs<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a093 billion\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">have<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">been disbursed to\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">the Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar Scheme<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">He,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">however,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">pointed<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">out<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">certain<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">issues<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">in implementation\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">subsidies<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">in\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">light<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0of the IMF Policy,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">whereupon<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0the Chair proposed relaxation in the policy rates (KIBOR) to facilitate easy and fast-track access to finance for the development of the housing sector<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">.<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">The government&#8217;s\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">effort<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">facilitate<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0the housing sector\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">is,<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">indeed,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">commendable,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">but<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">\u00a0the establishment of an Apex Housing Finance Institution\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">marks<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0a significant\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">initiative<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">in<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">the<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">direction of facilitating\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">access to finance for housing projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">Similarly,<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">innovative mortgage financing products\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">are<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">being<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">developed<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">and<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\"> microfinance institutions are expanding to serve <\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited_long__JuNNx\">the needs of low-income groups and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">ensure<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__added__LtuNJ\">more\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Editor_t__not_edited__WuRP8\">affordable housing.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: In a ground
