{"id":63857,"date":"2025-01-28T12:06:13","date_gmt":"2025-01-28T07:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=63857"},"modified":"2025-01-28T12:06:13","modified_gmt":"2025-01-28T07:06:13","slug":"imran-bushra-request-different-bench-in-new-toshakhana-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/imran-bushra-request-different-bench-in-new-toshakhana-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran, Bushra request different bench in new Toshakhana case"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan&#8217;s counsel requested the court to transfer the acquittal plea in the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/featured\/ihc-seeks-fia-response-on-imran-bushras-acquittal-pleas-in-new-toshakhana-case\/\">Toshakhana-II case<\/a> to another bench.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC) today, Barrister Safdar submitted the transfer request, stating that a senior judge of the High Court had previously heard a similar case.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas conducted the hearing on the\u00a0acquittal pleas of former premier Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the new Toshakhana case.<\/p>\n<p>Defense counsel Barrister Salman Safdar and FIA prosecutor Umair Majeed appeared before the court.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p>&#8220;I am submitting my request in court per my client\u2019s instructions. This case has already been heard by a very senior judge of this High Court,&#8221; Khan&#8217;s lawyer argued.<\/p>\n<p>Barrister Safdar further referred to the Iddat case, stating that a transfer order was issued on similar grounds as the case was transferred to another bench.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised his client&#8217;s instructions and pointed out the availability of senior judges in the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, Justice Minhas adjourned the Toshakhana-II case, deferring the decision on the acquittal petitions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan&#8217;s counsel requested the court to transfer the acquittal plea in the Toshakhana-II case to another bench.
