{"id":6394,"date":"2022-02-23T12:50:38","date_gmt":"2022-02-23T12:50:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=6394"},"modified":"2022-02-23T12:55:26","modified_gmt":"2022-02-23T12:55:26","slug":"ahsan-iqbals-plea-for-acquittal-dismissed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ahsan-iqbals-plea-for-acquittal-dismissed\/","title":{"rendered":"Ahsan Iqbal\u2019s plea for acquittal dismissed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court of Islamabad on Wednesday dismissed a plea seeking former federal minister and PML-N Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal\u2019s plea for acquittal in Narowal Sports City Complex reference.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Accountability Court Judge Syed Asghar Ali pronounced a reserved judgment on the plea of \u200b\u200bAhsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports City Complex reference.<\/p>\n<p>The Islamabad accountability court had reserved judgment on the plea of \u200b the former minister in a reference regarding misuse of powers in the construction of the Narowal Sports City Complex.<\/p>\n<p>Ahsan Iqbal\u2019s lawyer Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi was seeking acquittal in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference.<\/p>\n<p>He told the court that NAB failed to present any evidence of personal corruption, adding that NAB could not prove any irregularity in the plan.<\/p>\n<p>Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi said that the purpose of the reference and arrest was only to discredit Ahsan Iqbal.
