{"id":63977,"date":"2025-01-29T12:37:20","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T07:37:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=63977"},"modified":"2025-01-29T14:42:52","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T09:42:52","slug":"nab-approaches-uae-for-extradition-of-malik-riaz-his-son","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/nab-approaches-uae-for-extradition-of-malik-riaz-his-son\/","title":{"rendered":"NAB approaches UAE for extradition of Malik Riaz, his son"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_40 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_40\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to extradite property tycoon <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/bahria-town-signs-agreement-to-launch-major-project-in-dubai\/\">Malik Riaz<\/a> and his son Ali Malik.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The NAB authorities have initiated the extradition process of influential businessman from the Gulf country under international anti-money laundering laws and the Vienna Convention.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>Earlier on January 22, the accountability watchdog warned the public against investing in Malik Riaz&#8217;s UAE-based real estate project, Bahria Town Dubai. The bureau also announced its decision to seek the extradition of Malik Riaz.<\/p>\n<p>The press release stated, &#8220;NAB is conducting inquiries and investigations against the owner of Bahria Town (Pvt.) Ltd., Malik Riaz, and his associates for fraud, deceptive practices, and cheating the public at large.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the moment, Malik Riaz is an absconder in the Al-Qadir Trust case and is wanted by the court. The accountability bureau has already frozen numerous assets of Bahria Town (Pvt.) Ltd. and its owner,&#8221; it read.<\/p>\n<p>NAB alleged that Riaz continues to defraud the public by selling plots and files in these illegal housing societies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_40 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_40\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_40 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_40\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>The property tycoon took to\u00a0X\u00a0to respond to NAB\u2019s allegations, saying that \u201cToday\u2019s baseless NAB press release is merely a new demand for blackmail.
