{"id":64194,"date":"2025-01-31T16:13:33","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T11:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=64194"},"modified":"2025-01-31T16:13:33","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T11:13:33","slug":"multan-sho-arrested-for-assaulting-elderly-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/multan-sho-arrested-for-assaulting-elderly-man\/","title":{"rendered":"Multan SHO arrested for assaulting elderly man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MULTAN: A police officer, who tortured an elderly citizen, in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/six-killed-31-injured-in-multan-gas-tanker-explosion\/\">Multan<\/a> has been suspended and arrested on Friday following instructions from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lahore\/punjab-cm-maryam-inaugurates-electric-bus-service-in-lahore\/\">Chief Minister Punjab<\/a> took action after a video of SHO New Multan Police Station, Shafiq Ahmed, beating and dragging a citizen in Multan went viral.<\/p>\n<p>A cop can be seen in a video assaulting a citizen riding a bike after he was spotted on the road, which was blocked for any kind of traffic as the cricket team convoy was passing from the road under strict police security.<\/p>\n<p>The SHO grabbed his collar in anger and pulled him down from the slow-moving bike, started beating him, and took him to some distance along with uttering inappropriate words.<\/p>\n<p>Taking action, City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar suspended SHO Shafiq Ahmed and initiated further legal action.
