WASHINGTON DC: Darren Beattie<\/span>, former White House<\/a> speechwriter who made <\/span>headlines for taking one of the last international interviews <\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan<\/a> before his arrest<\/span> is to be appointed as an acting\u00a0 Undersecretary<\/span>\u00a0for public diplomacy and\u00a0affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secretary of State Marco Rubio will appoint Darren Beattie as an acting undersecretary of state for public diplomacy.<\/p>\n

This move is seen as a significant shift away from traditional Republican values, as Beattie has been a vocal critic of American foreign policy<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

He’s also known for his controversial views, including comparing Western-backed “color revolutions” in Eastern Europe to efforts to oust President Trump.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beattie has a PhD <\/span>from Duke University\u00a0<\/span>in political theory<\/span>;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>he<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>has<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>also<\/span> served as a teacher<\/span>\u00a0there<\/span>. However, he was\u00a0<\/span>dismissed<\/span>\u00a0in 2018\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0attending a conference\u00a0<\/span>alongside<\/span>\u00a0white nationalists. <\/span><\/p>\n

Despite this, he was appointed by Trump in 2020 to the Commission for the Preservation of American Heritage Abroad, a move\u00a0<\/span>criticized<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>by<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, according to Beattie’s tweet, he was one the last International journalists to interview former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan before his arrest.\u00a0 During<\/span> the controversial interview in 2023, Beattie can be seen asking Former PM Imran Khan about<\/span> Biden’s reforms and his wicked regime role.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Beattie’s<\/span>\u00a0appointment\u00a0<\/span>is seen as a\u00a0<\/span>sign<\/span>\u00a0that the new\u00a0<\/span>government<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>adopt<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>an<\/span>\u00a0“America First”\u00a0<\/span>doctrine<\/span>, with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon praising Beattie as “smart, tough, relentless” and\u00a0<\/span>even\u00a0<\/span>a key figure in the attack on the “Deep State”.<\/span><\/p>\n
