ISLAMABAD: According to a recent update, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif<\/a> is\u00a0<\/span>likely<\/span> to inaugurate<\/span> the Serena Interchange Project<\/a> tomorrow, on Tuesday, <\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>great<\/span>\u00a0milestone in the country’s infrastructure development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahead of the inauguration, the I<\/span>nterior Minister<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0Mohsin Naqvi<\/span>,<\/span> visited the site today <\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>inspected<\/span> the arrangments, asking<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>officials to\u00a0<\/span>beautify<\/span>\u00a0the surroundings with horticulture and install decorative lighting. <\/span><\/p>\n

He also\u00a0<\/span>asked<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0speedy completion of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>connecting roads to ensure\u00a0<\/span>smooth\u00a0<\/span>traffic\u00a0<\/span>flow<\/span>. The project, which includes three underpasses, has been completed for Rs4.2 billion, with the Capital Development Authority<\/a> (CDA) <\/span>finalizing the horticulture and electrical work.<\/span><\/p>\n

The inauguration of the Serena Interchange Project is a major achievement, considering the prime minister had set a 60-day deadline for its completion, which ended on January 5.<\/p>\n

Despite<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>exceeding<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>mark<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>by a month,\u00a0<\/span>CDA officials believe\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>project\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>ease traffic congestion at this busy junction.<\/span><\/p>\n

In\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>meanwhile,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>reported<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>one of the\u00a0<\/span>new<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>underpasses\u00a0<\/span>has been proposed to be named\u00a0<\/span>after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>at<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>directives of the\u00a0<\/span>Prime Minister’s Office\u00a0<\/span>from<\/span>\u00a0the CDA<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It<\/span> is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a reflection of the improvement brought by the government towards the infrastructure improvement of the country along <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with its measures\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>bring<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>decrease<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span> traffic\u00a0<\/span>congestion.<\/span><\/p>\n
