{"id":64538,"date":"2025-02-04T15:07:26","date_gmt":"2025-02-04T10:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=64538"},"modified":"2025-02-04T15:07:26","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T10:07:26","slug":"pmdc-to-conduct-inspection-of-medical-dental-colleges-across-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pmdc-to-conduct-inspection-of-medical-dental-colleges-across-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"PMDC to conduct inspection of medical &#038; dental colleges across Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pmdc-bans-fee-collection-by-private-medical-dental-colleges\/\">Pakistan Medical and Dental Council<\/a> (PMDC) has now decided to conduct inspections of all medical and dental colleges in the country-Specifically, both public and private institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The basic aim is to formulate standards for colleges, infrastructure, and faculty quality-masters trainers will supervise the process and train inspectors for the on-ground evaluations.<\/p>\n<p>During the inspections, the PMDC will assess these institutions on the overall <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/empowering-education-bard-foundations-enduring-legacy-at-lums\/\">quality of educatio<\/a>n and facilities available. However, in compliance with the regulations, no immediate consequences will be inflicted on those institutions; they will be given a deadline of six months to bring the college standards to a reasonable level.<\/p>\n<p>Hitherto, their admission process will not be held back, thus giving low-quality colleges time to earlier receive a penalty.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after the PMDC reportedly banned private medical and dental colleges from collecting tuition fees last month. That ban was imposed after the<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/featured\/senate-passes-peca-amendment-bill-amid-opposition-protest\/\"> Senate Committee<\/a> announced that the collection of fees would not be allowed until the Medical Education Committee submitted its recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee, chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, is currently reviewing many aspects and challenges for private medical universities and colleges.
