{"id":64628,"date":"2025-02-05T13:56:51","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T08:56:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=64628"},"modified":"2025-02-05T13:56:51","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T08:56:51","slug":"govt-raises-rs-452-billion-through-t-bill-auction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-raises-rs-452-billion-through-t-bill-auction\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt raises Rs452 billion through T-bill auction"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_40 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_40\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p>ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday secured Rs452 billion in the latest auction of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/sbp-reduces-policy-rate-by-100-bps-for-sixth-consecutive-time\/\">Market Treasury Bills<\/a> (MTBs), surpassing the target of Rs450 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The auction attracted Rs917.5 billion in total bids, with the SBP receiving bids worth Rs300.63 billion for 3 months, Rs256.45 billion for 6 months, and Rs360.43 billion for 12 months, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data showed.<\/p>\n<p>The three-month T-bill cut-off yield surged by 21bps to 11.79 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the cut-off yield for the six-month stood at 11.5048 percent with an increase of 10bps, while\u00a0the 12-month yield climbed 24bps to 11.59 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Out of this, SBP accepted Rs153.19bn for 3 months, Rs27.95 billion for 6 months, and Rs212.58 billion for 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the central bank revealed that it collected Rs58.21 billion from the non-competitive auction, making the total amount accepted Rs451.92 billion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>To note, the central bank in the last auction held on January 22, 2025,\u00a0sold MTBs worth Rs325.5bn against a target of Rs350bn.<\/p>\n<p>Market analysts attributed the increase in yields to adjustments following the SBP\u2019s smaller-than-expected rate reduction.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Pakistan\u2019s inflation dropped to 2.4 percent year-on-year in January, marking its lowest level in over nine years after recording 4.1 percent in December.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday secured Rs452 billion in the latest auction of Market Treasury Bills (MTBs), surpassing the target of Rs450 billion.
