RAWALPINDI: An Afghan national involved in terrorist activities<\/a> inside Pakistan was killed during an operation in the North Waziristan district, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.<\/p>\n

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, security forces conducted an operation in the Datta Khel area on February 6.<\/p>\n

“The individual was later identified as Luqman Khan alias Nusrat (Afghan National), son of Kamal Khan, resident of Spera District, Khost Province, Afghanistan,” it read.<\/p>\n

The ISPR statement added that local authorities have approached the interim Afghan government authorities to take over the body of the individual, being an Afghan citizen.<\/p>\n

“Such incidents are irrefutable evidence of the involvement of Afghan Nationals in terrorist activities in Pakistan,” the statement read.<\/p>\n

“The interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for perpetrating acts of terrorism against Pakistan.”<\/p>\n

Attack on Bannu checkpost<\/h2>\n

The statement came hours after two police officers were martyred in a terrorist attack on the Fatah Khel police post in Bannu district, which was the second assault on the installation in two days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Bannu district police officer (DPO) said the attackers stormed the post and managed to escape after the attack.<\/p>\n
