{"id":65631,"date":"2025-02-16T17:45:39","date_gmt":"2025-02-16T12:45:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=65631"},"modified":"2025-02-16T17:46:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-16T12:46:04","slug":"lda-to-start-door-to-door-waste-management-under-cm-maryam-suthra-punjab-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lda-to-start-door-to-door-waste-management-under-cm-maryam-suthra-punjab-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"LDA to start door-to-door waste management under CM Maryam &#8216;Suthra Punjab scheme&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lda-seals-kips-college-other-key-institutions-amid-illegal-use\/\"> Lahore Development Authority<\/a> (LDA) has taken a significant step towards improving waste management in the city by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lahore\/fir-lodged-against-marquee-owner-for-serving-toxic-food-in-lahore\/\">Lahore Waste Management Company<\/a> (LWMC) for door-to-door waste collection in three housing schemes.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement, signed under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/maryam-nawaz-introduces-suthra-punjab-program\/\">Suthra Punjab Program<\/a>&#8220;, aims to collect waste from LDA Avenue One, Jubilee Town, and Mohlanwal Scheme in the first phase, with the process expected to begin by the end of March 2025.<\/p>\n<p>According to LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, the LWMC will collect waste from these three schemes, significantly improving the cleaning system and providing relief to residents.<\/p>\n<p>The LWMC will deploy its teams in multiple shifts to ensure that the cleanliness situation in Lahore remains a top priority, with the door-to-door waste collection system expected to be fully operational across the city by the end of March.<\/p>\n<p>CEO LWMC Babar Sahib Din announced that a notified fee of PKR 300, 500, and 1,000 will be charged for 5-marla, 10-marla, and 1-kanal houses, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by officials from LDA, LWMC, district administration, and residents, and later, LWMC teams conducted a flag march on the main roads of LDA Avenue One.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is part of the LWMC&#8217;s mission to turn Lahore into one of the cleanest cities in the world, as envisioned by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has taken a significant step towards improving waste management in the city by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) for door-to-door waste collection in three housing schemes.
