{"id":65898,"date":"2025-02-18T22:12:34","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T17:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=65898"},"modified":"2025-02-18T22:12:34","modified_gmt":"2025-02-18T17:12:34","slug":"saudi-arabia-extends-deferred-payment-oil-supply-to-pakistan-for-another-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/saudi-arabia-extends-deferred-payment-oil-supply-to-pakistan-for-another-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Saudi Arabia extends deferred payment oil supply to Pakistan for another year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/saudi-arabia-arrests-over-21000-illegal-immigrants-in-one-week\/\">Saudi Arabia<\/a> has decided to continue supplying petroleum products to Pakistan on deferred payment basis, which will provide major financial relief to the country.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad bin Salman formally informed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif through a letter which was later discussed in the federal cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pm-shehbaz-sharif-inaugurates-tayyip-erdogan-interchange\/\">Shehbaz Sharif<\/a>, while giving details of the letter, said that Saudi Arabia will extend the supply of petroleum products worth $100 million per month through the Saudi Development Fund for another year.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing gratitude, the Prime Minister acknowledged Saudi Arabia\u2019s continued support, especially at a time of economic hardship, and reiterated Pakistan\u2019s strong ties with the kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>The cabinet meeting also covered key governance initiatives, including the implementation of the e-Office system in federal ministries and divisions.<\/p>\n<p>Officials reported that 98 percent of federal divisions have adopted e-Office, with 39 divisions achieving full implementation.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, 21 divisions have fully integrated the system for inter-ministerial coordination, while 176 subordinate and government agencies have successfully transitioned to digital operations.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Shehbaz directed the authorities to ensure complete digitalization of Pakistani missions abroad by March 20, 2025, to enhance service delivery for overseas Pakistanis.<\/p>\n<p>The cabinet also approved Pakistan\u2019s decision to sign an international agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea for the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources in international waters.<\/p>\n<p>In another important decision, the federal government approved the appointment of Kamran Jahangir as Managing Director of the National Book Foundation and Dr. Shahid Aslam Mirza as Managing Director of Korangi Fisheries Harbour Authority.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, 6 names were approved to be presented to the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition for the post of member representing Islamabad Capital Territory in the National Commission for Human Rights.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the cabinet approved signing of an agreement with Somalia for cooperation on national identity system.<\/p>\n<p>It also directed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to review the registration case of Watim Medical College Rawalpindi as per legal requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, an inquiry commission was approved to investigate irregularities in the elections of the governing body of the Pakistan Engineering Council.<\/p>\n<p>Amendments to the rules of the Inland Revenue Appellate Tribunal were also approved along with ratification of the decisions taken in the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee held on February 14, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The cabinet further ratified the decisions taken by the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Affairs in its meeting on February 17, 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has decided to continue supplying petroleum products to Pakistan on deferred payment basis, which will provide major financial relief to the country.
