PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to dismiss employees recruited during the caretaker government, here on Saturday.<\/p>\n
According to the details, a letter has been issued to the Chief Secretary and heads of other departments, urging the dismissal of government employees recruited between January 22, 2023 and February 29, 2024.<\/p>\n
The notification states that the dismissal process should be completed within thirty days.<\/p>\n
Earlier, a bill titled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Employees Bill 2025 was prepared to facilitate dismissals, which will affect employees recruited between January 22, 2023 and February 29, 2024.<\/p>\n
The proposed bill exempts employees recruited through the commission, including children and employees recruited under minority quota. A seven-member committee headed by the establishment secretary will be formed to monitor the process and remove obstacles that arise during the dismissal.<\/p>\n
The committee\u2019s decisions will be final and all departments will be required to submit reports on the recruitments within 30 days. The bill aims to declare the caretaker government\u2019s recruitments illegal and pave the way for the dismissal of the affected employees.<\/p>\n
This development comes after the exposure of 566 illegal posts created during the caretaker government, resulting in an annual loss of Rs480 million to the government exchequer.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa finance department had issued a stern warning to government employees for skipping office hours. Negligence could result in salary deductions, transfers, or disciplinary action.<\/p>\n
In response to public complaints, a notification was sent to all provincial offices and departments, directing employees to strictly adhere to the office hours of 9 am to 5 pm.<\/p>\n
