{"id":66495,"date":"2025-02-25T18:19:09","date_gmt":"2025-02-25T13:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=66495"},"modified":"2025-02-25T18:19:09","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T13:19:09","slug":"punjab-govt-clarifies-bike-lane-was-not-funded-by-public-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/lahore\/punjab-govt-clarifies-bike-lane-was-not-funded-by-public-money\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab govt clarifies bike lane was not funded by public money"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Punjab Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari has allayed concerns over the paint used on Lahore\u2019s motorcycle lanes, saying that a local company had applied it on a trial basis with a one-year guarantee.<\/p>\n<p>She said that the project did not involve government funding or any payment to the company, as the firm was responsible for re-applying the paint if required.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to Barrister Saif\u2019s remarks, Bukhari pointed out that Peshawar\u2019s Bus Rapid Transit (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/kp-proposes-expanding-peshawar-brt-launches-digital-license-system\/\">BRT<\/a>) system had faced frequent breakdowns and accidents in the last five years.<\/p>\n<p>Azma highlighted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government still owes Rs. 60 billion for the Peshawar Metro project, which remains under legal proceedings in an international court.<\/p>\n<p>She criticized Barrister Saif for repeatedly targeting Punjab while failing to show any significant achievements of his government.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are still struggling with inadequate transport infrastructure, often crossing rivers using makeshift rafts.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Punjab is expanding its public transport system, with tram services and the underground metro Green Line project currently underway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Punjab Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari has allayed concerns over the paint used on Lahore\u2019s motorcycle lanes, saying that a local company had applied it on a trial basis with a one-year guarantee.
