{"id":66512,"date":"2025-02-25T21:10:06","date_gmt":"2025-02-25T16:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=66512"},"modified":"2025-02-25T21:10:06","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T16:10:06","slug":"mqm-h-chief-afaq-ahmed-granted-bail-in-arson-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/mqm-h-chief-afaq-ahmed-granted-bail-in-arson-case\/","title":{"rendered":"MQM-H chief Afaq Ahmed granted bail in Arson Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqqiqi (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/mqm-p-mna-rana-ansars-son-dies-in-karachi-road-accident\/\">MQM-H<\/a>) chairman Afaq Ahmed was released on Tuesday after being granted bail in a third arson case involving the torching of several heavy vehicles following a press conference condemning traffic accidents in Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>An Additional District and Sessions Judge in Karachi\u2019s West District granted Afaq bail in the case where a group of people set a tanker on fire. The court, while granting his bail application, directed him to submit surety bonds of Rs 100,000.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Afaq was sent to jail on judicial remand by a magistrate in the case of setting a water bowser on fire in Surjani Town.<\/p>\n<p>The incidents occurred after Afaq\u2019s press conference earlier this month, where he criticised the increasing number of traffic accidents in Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>He also faced two other cases registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) at Landhi and Awami Colony police stations.
