{"id":66819,"date":"2025-03-01T14:29:30","date_gmt":"2025-03-01T09:29:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=66819"},"modified":"2025-03-01T14:29:30","modified_gmt":"2025-03-01T09:29:30","slug":"bank-holiday-declared-on-monday-across-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/bank-holiday-declared-on-monday-across-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank holiday declared on Monday across Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared a &#8220;bank holiday&#8221; on March 3 (Monday) across the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to the SBP circular, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/sbp-announces-bank-holiday-on-first-ramadan-ul-mubarak-working-day\/\">all kinds of banks<\/a> and financial institutions will remain closed for public dealing on March 3 for <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-announces-zakat-nisab-for-2025\/\">Zakat deduction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll banks \/ DFIs \/ MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date,\u201d the circular read.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;However, all employees of the banks \/ DFIs \/ MFBs will attend the office on Bank Holiday treating it as a normal working day (except for public dealing).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Tuesday, the Federal Ministry of Poverty Alleviation announced Nisab-i-Zakat for 2025, saying that Zakat would be applicable on an amount of Rs179,689 this year.<\/p>\n<p>This means that no Zakat deduction will be made from accounts with a balance below this threshold on the first day of\u00a0Ramzan-ul-Mubarak, 1446 AH, which will fall on March 2, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Zakat is deducted from savings bank accounts, profit-and-loss sharing accounts, and all other similar accounts, on amounts beginning from Rs 179,689 and above.<\/p>\n<p>All<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/inquiry-uncovers-massive-misappropriation-in-zakat-fund-fia-to-investigate\/\">\u00a0Zakat Collection and Controlling Agencies<\/a>\u00a0(ZCCAs) are directed to deduct Zakat at their respective amounts and deposit it in the Central Zakat Account No. CZ-08 at the State Bank of Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad\u00a0announced\u00a0that the Ramadan moon was not sighted in Pakistan, and the first Ramadan will be observed on Sunday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  sm:w-full  w-full  media--stretch    media--uneven  media--stretch\"><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared a &#8220;bank holiday&#8221; on March 3 (Monday) across the country.
