The haul was expertly hidden in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>NCA officers began an investigation and Khan, who claimed he was a car dealer, was arrested by officers from the agency\u2019s Armed Operations Unit on 12 July in Birmingham\u2019s Jewellery Quarter.<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FNCA%2Fvideos%2F1280539446352219%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=476&amp;t=0\" width=\"476\" height=\"476\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Today, Khan, of Lea Road, Sparkhill, Birmingham, appeared at the city\u2019s crown court and was sentenced to eight years in prison after he admitted smuggling firearms.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-eb24677f-0 kuYBMG\" data-component=\"ad-slot\" data-testid=\"ad-unit\">\n<div id=\"dotcom-mid_1\" class=\"dotcom-ad active\" data-testid=\"dotcom-mid_1\" data-ad-slot=\"{}\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<div class=\"dotcom-ad-text-wrapper\">The investigtion revealed that he was in contact with a supplier in Pakistan who had access to the manufacture of parts for firearms.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>NCA officers discovered voice notes on his phone showing evidence of a contact with a supplier in Pakistan who had access to the manufacture of parts for firearms.<\/p>\n<p>The armourer had invited Khan to view \u201cthe factory\u201d during summer 2023, according to the NCA.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence also showed that during 2023, Khan purchased several deactivated firearms, which it is believed he was able to convert into viable lethal firearms once again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: A British-Pakistani man has been jailed for eight years who tried to smuggle firearms parts in a car shipped from Pakistan to the United Kingdom (UK).
