{"id":67560,"date":"2025-03-09T18:55:25","date_gmt":"2025-03-09T13:55:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=67560"},"modified":"2025-03-09T18:55:25","modified_gmt":"2025-03-09T13:55:25","slug":"sardar-tanveer-ilyas-resigns-from-ipp-heres-why","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/sardar-tanveer-ilyas-resigns-from-ipp-heres-why\/","title":{"rendered":"Sardar Tanveer Ilyas resigns from IPP: Here&#8217;s why!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/former-ajk-prime-minister-sardar-tanveer-ilyass-disqualification-lifted\/\">Sardar Tanveer Ilyas<\/a> has reportedly bid farewell to the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP).<\/p>\n<p>According to media reports, Ilyas is in touch with various leaders and is expected to announce his future course of action soon.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had declared the disqualification of former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas null and void and allowed him to contest elections for any public office.<\/p>\n<p>The court accepted Ilyas\u2019 appeal against the disqualification, which was pronounced by the AJK High Court in a contempt of court case.<\/p>\n<p>Ilyas had sought forgiveness from the court and was granted relief after a full bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan overturned his conviction.
