LAHORE: The verification process for the Chief Minister Punjab ‘Free Solar Panel Scheme<\/a>‘ has started following the registration process was completed.<\/p>\n

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz<\/a> launched the solar panel scheme to provide free solar energy solutions to households across Punjab in order to promote clean energy and reduce the financial burden on the public.<\/p>\n

As per details, the district administration of Lahore has made special teams for physical verification to assess the qualified candidates for the scheme.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza said special teams have been formed under the supervision of Assistant Commissioners, who will complete the verification process of beneficiaries in two days.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be no compromise on transparency and merit, ensuring faster implementation of the scheme through effective monitoring,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

To ensure transparency, the verification will be done by utilizing a reference number and CNIC number shown on the consumer\u2019s monthly bill.<\/p>\n

The scheme will generate a carbon reduction of 57,000 tonnes and also lessen the subsidy strain on the government at the centre.<\/p>\n

Under the scheme, the Punjab government will give up to 100,000 solar systems free of cost to poor households having consumption from 0-200 units through transparent balloting.<\/p>\n

In the first phase, 94,483 solar systems will be installed, out of which 47,182 are 0.55 kW and 47,301 are 1.1 kW. The installations are expected to start by the end of March and will be completed by the end of July.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n

Domestic consumers having monthly consumption of up to 200 units under the following categories are eligible:<\/p>\n

Up to \u2013 50 Units (Life Line)<\/p>\n

51-100 Units (Life Line)<\/p>\n

0-100 Units (Protected)<\/p>\n

0-100 Units (Un-protected)<\/p>\n

101-200 Units (Protected)<\/p>\n

101-200 Units (Unprotected)<\/p>\n
