{"id":68914,"date":"2025-03-24T15:39:29","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T10:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=68914"},"modified":"2025-03-24T15:39:29","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T10:39:29","slug":"ihc-resume-twice-a-week-meetings-of-imran-khan-in-adiala-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ihc-resume-twice-a-week-meetings-of-imran-khan-in-adiala-jail\/","title":{"rendered":"IHC resume twice a week meetings of Imran Khan in Adiala jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday resumed bi-weekly meetings of imprisoned Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, allowing him to meet every Tuesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A three-member larger bench headed by <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/justice-sarfraz-dogar-notified-as-acting-ihc-cj\/\">acting Chief Justice of IHC Justice Sarfaraz Dogar<\/a> heard the petition related to the visitation rights and jail condition of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insf (PTI) Founder.<\/p>\n<p>The bench also included Justices Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Muhammad Azam Khan.<\/p>\n<p>The court ruled that not everyone can come with a request for a meeting and that only those individuals whose names are provided by the PTI founder\u2019s coordinator Salman Akram Raja will be permitted to meet him.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the court added that there would be no media discussions following the meetings.<\/p>\n<p>According to the counsel of the Adiala jail&#8217;s superintendent, the PTI founder was permitted to hold two meetings every week on Tuesday following the jail menu.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI founder&#8217;s status was changed from an undertrial prisoner to a convicted prisoner after January, he told the court.<\/p>\n<p>The acting chief justice stated that over 100 applications for jail meetings had been filed, with around 98 being settled.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir said that the SOPs for Tuesday and Thursday&#8217;s sessions had been specified in the appeal, to which lawyer Naveed Malik responded that due to security concerns, we had convened two meetings on Tuesday rather than two days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday resumed bi-weekly meetings of imprisoned Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, allowing him to meet every Tuesday and Thursday.
