{"id":69009,"date":"2025-03-25T14:13:39","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T09:13:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=69009"},"modified":"2025-03-25T14:13:39","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T09:13:39","slug":"pmdc-approves-fee-reduction-plan-for-private-medical-and-dental-colleges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pmdc-approves-fee-reduction-plan-for-private-medical-and-dental-colleges\/","title":{"rendered":"PMDC approves fee reduction plan for private medical and dental colleges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pmdc-bans-registration-of-new-medical-dental-colleges\/\">Pakistan Medical and Dental Council<\/a> (PMDC) has <span class=\"diff-highlight\">accepted<\/span> recommendations <span class=\"diff-highlight\">on<\/span> fee regulations in private medical and dental <span class=\"diff-highlight\">institutions<\/span>, which have been <span class=\"diff-highlight\">sent<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">consideration<\/span> to a specially constituted\u00a0committee.<\/p>\n<p>The final announcement will be made by <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/education\/pm-shehbaz-announces-1000-agricultural-scholarships\/\">Deputy Prime Minister<\/a><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> Ishaq Dar, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">who<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">is<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">chairperson<\/span> of the special committee <span class=\"diff-highlight\">on<\/span> medical education.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">recommendations<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">call<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">a<\/span> minimum annual fee <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> Rs1.8 <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Million<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">a<\/span> maximum <span class=\"diff-highlight\">annual<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">fee<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> Rs2.5 million <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">private<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">medical<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">colleges<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>This <span class=\"diff-highlight\">would<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">be<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">a<\/span> reduction <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Rs0<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">.<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">5<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Rs1<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">million<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">comparison<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> the current fees <span class=\"diff-highlight\">ranging<\/span> from Rs2.5 to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Rs3<\/span>.5 million <span class=\"diff-highlight\">per<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">year<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Earlier<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">an<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">agreed<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">proposal<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> Rs1.2 to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Rs1<\/span>.5 million <span class=\"diff-highlight\">annual<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">fee<\/span> was <span class=\"diff-highlight\">refused<\/span> by <span class=\"diff-highlight\">representatives<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> private medical <span class=\"diff-highlight\">colleges<\/span>. The <span class=\"diff-highlight\">recommendations<\/span> also <span class=\"diff-highlight\">call<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> an annual fee increase of 5 <span class=\"diff-highlight\">percent<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> 35% of beds in <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">teaching<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">hospitals<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">affiliated<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> private medical <span class=\"diff-highlight\">colleges<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">be<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">designated<\/span> for social welfare patients.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Private<\/span> medical colleges <span class=\"diff-highlight\">are<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">required<\/span> to offer five scholarships <span class=\"diff-highlight\">per<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">year<\/span> and provide <span class=\"diff-highlight\">flexibility<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> installment <span class=\"diff-highlight\">payments<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> underprivileged students. <span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">representatives<\/span> of <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> private medical and dental <span class=\"diff-highlight\">medical<\/span> colleges have agreed to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> recommendations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has accepted recommendations on fee regulations in private medical and dental institutions, which have been sent for consideration to a specially constituted\u00a0committee.
