ISLAMABAD: In an attempt to lower the rising political temperature, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry Monday extended a deal offer to the Opposition on the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.<\/p>\n
Speaking to\u00a0a private news channel, the information minister said: \u201cIf the Opposition withdraws the no-confidence motion, let’s see what can be given to them in return.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said that the lawmakers will cast their votes in the National Assembly after passing through the PTI supporters at D-Chowk. The minister termed the upcoming public gathering at Islamabad D-Chowk a \u201cmini referendum\u201d over the no-trust motion.<\/p>\n
Fawad said that he hopes over one million people will attend the public meeting on the call of the prime minister.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Opposition will see if the people are with us or not,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Ruling out the possibility of declaring an emergency in the country, the minister stated: “Emergency powers are limited after the 18th Amendment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Referring to the current political situation, Fawad said that the Opposition should withdraw the no-trust motion as it had caused bitterness in the politics.<\/p>\n
He feared that the soaring political situation could harm the country.<\/p>\n
