KARACHI: Pakistani power consumers have been given significant relief as electricity rates have been lowered by Rs7.59. This move comes after the government’s major overhaul of the system, and is expected to bring substantial savings to millions of consumers.<\/p>\n

The new power tariff reduction<\/a> is anticipated to help people save thousands during the upcoming summer season.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made the key announcement, highlighting that convincing the International Monetary Fund<\/a> (IMF) to approve the reduction was a challenging task.<\/p>\n

However, the government worked diligently to achieve this goal. The premier emphasized the need for structural reforms to address electricity theft, which costs the country billions.<\/p>\n
