Gas reserves in North Waziristan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Pakistan has <span class=\"diff-highlight\">achieved<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">an<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">important<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">accomplishment<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">through<\/span> the discovery of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ctd-foils-major-terror-attack-in-quetta-recovers-huge-cache-of-ammunition\/\">new oil and gas <span class=\"diff-highlight\">deposits<\/span><\/a> in <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> Spinwam area <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">North<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Waziristan<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>According to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">information<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">from<\/span> Mari Energies, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">which<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">operates<\/span> the Waziristan Block, the Spinwam-1 well has <span class=\"diff-highlight\">established<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">significant<\/span> reserves <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> the country&#8217;s<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/saudi-arabia-introduces-its-first-hydrogen-powered-buses\/\"> hydrocarbon resources<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"diff-highlight\">discovery<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">which<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">adds<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reserves<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">outlined<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">above<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reported<\/span> 70 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 310 barrels per day (bbl\/d) of crude oil.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">previous<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">find<\/span> in the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Spinwam<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">&#8211;<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">1<\/span> well including Kawag <span class=\"diff-highlight\">formation<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">&#8211;<\/span> 20.48 MMSCFD of gas and 117 bbl\/d of crude <span class=\"diff-highlight\">oil Samansk<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">formation<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">&#8211;<\/span> 12.96 MMSCFD of gas and 20 bbl\/d of crude <span class=\"diff-highlight\">oilHangu<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">formation<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">&#8211;<\/span> 23.85 MMSCFD of gas and 122 bbl\/d of crude <span class=\"diff-highlight\">oilMari<\/span> Energies <span class=\"diff-highlight\">have<\/span> a 55% <span class=\"diff-highlight\">share<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Waziristan<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Block<\/span>, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/ogdcl-discovers-tight-gas-reserves-in-sindh\/\"> Oil &amp; Gas Development Company Limited<\/a> (OGDCL) and Orient Petroleum <span class=\"diff-highlight\">holding<\/span> 35% and 10%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> discovery is expected to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">enhance<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">energy<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">security<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> Pakistan&#8217;s <span class=\"diff-highlight\">market<\/span>, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">it<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">creates<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">a<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">situation<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reduce<\/span> reliance on <span class=\"diff-highlight\">expensive<\/span> fuel imports and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">depletion<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> foreign exchange reserves.<\/p>\n<p>Notably<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reported<\/span>, Pakistan&#8217;s <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reserves<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> oil and gas have <span class=\"diff-highlight\">increased,<\/span> with oil reserves <span class=\"diff-highlight\">increasing<\/span> by 26% and gas reserves <span class=\"diff-highlight\">increasing<\/span> by 2% <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> June 202,4, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">meaning<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"diff-highlight\">reserves<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">last<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> 10 <span class=\"diff-highlight\">years<\/span> and 17 years, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Pakistan has achieved an important accomplishment through the discovery of new oil and gas deposits in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan.
