{"id":70123,"date":"2025-04-09T11:22:06","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T06:22:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=70123"},"modified":"2025-04-09T11:22:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-09T06:22:06","slug":"public-holiday-announced-in-punjab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/public-holiday-announced-in-punjab\/","title":{"rendered":"Public holiday announced in Punjab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: The <span class=\"diff-highlight\">provincial<\/span> government <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Punjab<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">has<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">announced<\/span> a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-govt-declares-public-holiday-in-lahore-on-april-12\/\">public holiday<\/a> in Lahore <span class=\"diff-highlight\">on<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">April<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">12<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">2025<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">conjunction<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">its<\/span> annual Mela Chiraghan, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">or<\/span> Festival of Lights<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">mark<\/span> the Urs of Hazrat Shah Hussain, a <span class=\"diff-highlight\">famous<\/span> 16th-century Sufi poet and saint.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/sexual-harassment-petition-against-ex-consul-general-mirza-salman-baig-dismissed-due-to-lack-of-evidence\/\"> Services and General Administration Department<\/a> (Welfare Wing) <span class=\"diff-highlight\">issued<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">notification<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">indicating<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">that<\/span> the holiday <span class=\"diff-highlight\">would<\/span> apply\u00a0<span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> all government offices and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">institutes<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">located<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> the Lahore <span class=\"diff-highlight\">District<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">so<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">that<\/span> devotees <span class=\"diff-highlight\">would<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">be<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">able<\/span> to participate in the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">festivities<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The Punjab Civil Secretariat, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">well<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">its<\/span> attached departments and regional offices<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> will <span class=\"diff-highlight\">be<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">open<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">during<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">this<\/span> holiday <span class=\"diff-highlight\">period<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>During Mela Chiraghan, the shrine will be <span class=\"diff-highlight\">lit<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">up<\/span>, and spiritual gatherings will <span class=\"diff-highlight\">showcase<\/span> Sufi kalam and dhamaal.
