NEW DELHI: An Indian air<\/span> traveler<\/span>,<\/span> Mr. Masand, has recently<\/span> become<\/span> the<\/span> subject<\/span> of<\/span> scandalous<\/span> news<\/span> for<\/span> urinating<\/span> on fellow<\/span> passenger<\/span>\u00a0Hiroshi<\/span> Yoshizane<\/span>,<\/span> who<\/span> was<\/span> seated<\/span> in<\/span> 1D<\/span>,<\/span> while<\/span> flying<\/span> on<\/span> Air India<\/a> from Delhi to Bangkok on April 9, 2025.<\/p>\n

According to reports<\/span>, Mr. Masand drank<\/span> two glasses of single malt,<\/span> which<\/span> made<\/span> him<\/span> intoxicated<\/span>,<\/span> after which he<\/span> proceeded<\/span> to<\/span> get<\/span> up<\/span> from<\/span> his<\/span> seat<\/span> and<\/span> started urinating on a nearby<\/span> Japanese passenger identified as Mr. Yoshizane<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Mr. Hiroshi then called the Senior Cabin Crew<\/a> (SCC) member, Sunpreet Singh, and crew member Rishika Matre, who provided wet towels to Mr.Hiroshi. The crew members later asked the passenger if he wanted to complain about Mr.Masand, but Mr.Hiroshi denied it and said that he did not want to waste his time after landing.<\/p>\n

The crew members transferred Mr.Hiroshi from seat 1D to 2D and deep cleaned the seat.<\/p>\n

However, this<\/span> has garnered<\/span> universal<\/span> outrage across<\/span> social<\/span> media<\/span>, and in<\/span> response<\/span>,<\/span> Air India has taken interim<\/span> measures<\/span> by banning Mr. Masand from flying with them<\/span> for 30 days.<\/p>\n

Air<\/span> India<\/span> confirmed the incident and explained that the crew adhered to all the specified protocols and directly reported the incident to the authorities.<\/p>\n

The incident is currently under investigation, and an independent committee will determine the course of action. Based on the committee’s findings, other airlines may also ban Mr. Masand from flying.<\/p>\n

The incident has heightened<\/span> attentiveness<\/span> on<\/span> passenger behavior,<\/span> and there<\/span> are<\/span> calls<\/span> for stricter measures for<\/span> safety and comfort while<\/span> flying<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Air India is<\/span> also<\/span> reinforcing<\/span> their<\/span> commitment to having<\/span> a safe space<\/span> for all of<\/span> their<\/span> passengers. The airline’s willingness<\/span> to suspend<\/span> Mr<\/span>.<\/span> Masand<\/span> as<\/span> an<\/span> additive<\/span> measure<\/span> has<\/span> also<\/span> been<\/span> appreciated,<\/span> and<\/span> many<\/span> await<\/span> the investigation‘<\/span>s<\/span> results<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
