PESHAWAR: The Cabinet<\/span> of<\/span> Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, chaired<\/span> by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur<\/a>, held a prolonged<\/span> meeting to reach<\/span> a<\/span> very<\/span> important<\/span> set<\/span> of<\/span> decisions for<\/span> the benefit<\/span> of the<\/span> province<\/span> and<\/span> the general public in various sectors, including health, education, water supply, public health, tourism, environment, sanitation, energy, and power.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by several key members, including cabinet members, the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, Senior Member Board of Revenue<\/a>, Administrative Secretaries, and Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n

Among<\/span> the significant<\/span> decisions taken<\/span> at<\/span> the meeting was the decision<\/span> to<\/span> allocate<\/span> a supplementary grant of<\/span> Rs<\/span>.<\/span> 1<\/span> billion<\/span> for<\/span> “Provision of Free Textbooks and School Bags in Merged Districts.”<\/p>\n

This will<\/span> provide educational materials and<\/span> promote<\/span> education and literacy in the<\/span> merged<\/span> districts<\/span>. The cabinet instructed<\/span> all<\/span> concerned authorities to formulate<\/span> a comprehensive scheme to<\/span> provide<\/span> school bags to all school-going children, starting with out-of-school children being enrolled during the ongoing campaign.<\/p>\n

The cabinet highlighted<\/span> the significance<\/span> of fundamental<\/span> education for children and reiterated their conviction<\/span> to ensure that<\/span> every child in the province has<\/span> access<\/span> to<\/span> basic<\/span> education<\/span>.<\/p>\n

To achieve this target<\/span>, they emphasized<\/span> the timely printing of textbooks and<\/span> improvement in the quality of educational materials while<\/span> also<\/span> lowering<\/span> associated<\/span> costs.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> cabinet also<\/span> instructed<\/span> the Education Department to settle<\/span> any<\/span> outstanding dues expeditiously<\/span> as<\/span> a demonstration<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> priority afforded<\/span> to<\/span> settling<\/span> financial<\/span> obligations<\/span> of<\/span> the department’s operating<\/span> expenses<\/span> on time.<\/p>\n

This endeavour<\/span> is a substantial<\/span> initiative<\/span> to<\/span> promote<\/span> education and literacy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and<\/span> the merged districts, especially<\/span> where access to quality education is worse<\/span> than<\/span> in\u00a0other<\/span> areas<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> province<\/span>.<\/p>\n

This<\/span> initiative<\/span> of<\/span> providing free books<\/span> and school bags to<\/span> students<\/span> represents<\/span> a<\/span> push<\/span> for<\/span> greater<\/span> enrollment<\/span>, reduced<\/span> dropout rates, and improved<\/span> academic performance.<\/p>\n
