{"id":70927,"date":"2025-04-16T15:52:47","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T10:52:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=70927"},"modified":"2025-04-16T15:53:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T10:53:09","slug":"govt-approves-funding-for-kachhi-canal-other-balochistan-development-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-approves-funding-for-kachhi-canal-other-balochistan-development-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt approves  funding for Kachhi Canal, other Balochistan development projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>QUETTA: Balochistan <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/cm-punjab-maryam-asaan-karobar-card-latest-application-status\/\">Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti<\/a> announced the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">disbursement<\/span> of funds for the Kachhi Canal project <span class=\"diff-highlight\">phase<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">two<\/span>, a demand <span class=\"diff-highlight\">from<\/span> the people of Balochistan for <span class=\"diff-highlight\">nearly<\/span> 25 years.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">overall<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">goal<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/shc-suspends-irsa-water-availability-certificate-for-cholistan-canals\/\"><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Kachhi<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Canal<\/span> project<\/a> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">is<\/span> to irrigate 800,000 acres of barren land <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">change<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">agricultural<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">paradigm<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">area<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Announcing<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">their<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">development<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">package<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/islamabad-weather-rise-in-temperature-expected-in-federal-capital\/\"><span class=\"diff-highlight\">federal<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">government<\/span><\/a> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">has<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">laid<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">out<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">efforts<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> infrastructure and economic relief <span class=\"diff-highlight\">packages<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">be<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">considered<\/span> a <span class=\"diff-highlight\">radical<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">change<\/span> for Balochistan.<\/p>\n<p>The package <span class=\"diff-highlight\">would<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">include<\/span> major <span class=\"diff-highlight\">works<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">on<\/span> the Karachi-Chaman Highway, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">\u201c<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">bloody<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">road<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">\u201d<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">well<\/span> known <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">its<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">accidents<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">travesties<\/span>. Improving this highway will <span class=\"diff-highlight\">not<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">only<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">better<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">connect<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">region<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">but<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> save lives and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">livelihoods<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal <span class=\"diff-highlight\">commended<\/span> Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif<span class=\"diff-highlight\">\u2019<\/span>s <span class=\"diff-highlight\">rallying<\/span> efforts and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">desire<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> focus on development <span class=\"diff-highlight\">costs<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Balochistan<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">meantime<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">commended<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Chief<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Minister<\/span> Bugti<span class=\"diff-highlight\">\u2019<\/span>s <span class=\"diff-highlight\">quality<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> leadership <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> persuading Sardar Akhtar Mengal to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">stop<\/span> his <span class=\"diff-highlight\">protests<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The government has reduced <span class=\"diff-highlight\">prices<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> petroleum <span class=\"diff-highlight\">products,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> CM Bugti celebrated it as a positive <span class=\"diff-highlight\">move<\/span> for the people of Balochistan. <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Next<\/span>, border districts will be <span class=\"diff-highlight\">a<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">top<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">priority<\/span> in the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">next<\/span> budget to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">fight<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">longstanding<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">abuses<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">from<\/span> smuggling and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">uplift<\/span> trade.
