{"id":71553,"date":"2025-04-22T13:05:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-22T08:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=71553"},"modified":"2025-04-22T13:05:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T08:05:00","slug":"ndma-issues-heat-wave-alert-across-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/weather\/ndma-issues-heat-wave-alert-across-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"NDMA issues heat wave alert across Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ndma-issues-warning-for-heavy-rain-winds-hail-in-twin-cities\/\">National Disaster Management Authority<\/a> (NDMA) has issued a <span class=\"diff-highlight\">national<\/span> alert due to an impending heatwave expected to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">affect<\/span> the country from today until April 27.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Per<\/span> the heatwave alert advisory, temperatures are <span class=\"diff-highlight\">expected<\/span> to rise significantly across Pakistan, with Balochistan and Sindh expected to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">exceed<\/span> 40\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Dry <span class=\"diff-highlight\">spells<\/span> are <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">expected<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">across<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">most<\/span> of the country, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> Islamabad and Lahore <span class=\"diff-highlight\">expecting<\/span> temperatures to exceed 35\u00b0C. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">well<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> Gilgit-Baltistan and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/govt-to-build-airport-in-ajk-following-demand-from-overseas-pakistanis\/\">Azad Jammu and Kashmir<\/a> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">regions<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> will also experience hot and dry <span class=\"diff-highlight\">conditions<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Some<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">respite<\/span> is predicted for <span class=\"diff-highlight\">at<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">least<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">some<\/span> areas, with <span class=\"diff-highlight\">expected<\/span> light rain and partly cloudy <span class=\"diff-highlight\">conditions<\/span> in <span class=\"diff-highlight\">some<\/span> districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">such<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> Peshawar, Swat, Charsadda, and Abbottabad. <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Some<\/span> showers are also predicted <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">regions<\/span> of Jammu\u00a0and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>The NDMA has urged local administrations to remain <span class=\"diff-highlight\">vigilant<\/span> and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">implement<\/span> preventive measures in vulnerable <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">care<\/span> areas.<\/p>\n<p>The public <span class=\"diff-highlight\">is<\/span> advised to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">hydrate<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">much<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">possible<\/span>, avoid outdoor activities during peak <span class=\"diff-highlight\">daylight<\/span> hours, and take <span class=\"diff-highlight\">special<\/span> care of children, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">older<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">friends<\/span>, and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">those<\/span> with health <span class=\"diff-highlight\">challenges<\/span> to\u00a0<span class=\"diff-highlight\">mitigate<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">risk<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">from<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">effects<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">heat<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">wave<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a national alert due to an impending heatwave expected to affect the country from today until April 27.
