According to international media, a federal judge has blocked Trump’s order to shut down the Voice of America (VOA), declaring it unconstitutional and blocking its implementation.

The court noted that due to cuts in government funding, VOA was unable to fulfill its journalistic mission for the first time in its 80-year history. Judge Royce Lamberth said the shutdown ignored the impact on employees, journalists and global media audiences.

The court ordered all employees and contractors of VOA, Radio Free Asia and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks to be reinstated to their original positions.
