{"id":72143,"date":"2025-04-27T10:04:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-27T05:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=72143"},"modified":"2025-04-27T10:04:24","modified_gmt":"2025-04-27T05:04:24","slug":"punjab-cm-maryam-to-launch-province-first-ever-airline-air-punjab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-cm-maryam-to-launch-province-first-ever-airline-air-punjab\/","title":{"rendered":"Punjab CM Maryam to launch province first ever airline &#8216;Air Punjab&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Punjab <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/new-condition-introduced-for-punjab-cm-laptop-scheme-2025\/\">Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif<\/a> has <span class=\"diff-highlight\">approved<\/span> the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">establishment<\/span> of Air Punjab, the province&#8217;s first<span class=\"diff-highlight\">&#8211;<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">ever<\/span> provincial airline, and the Lahore-Rawalpindi bullet train project.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">At a meeting on Saturday, she also reviewed the status of Air Punjab and the bullet train project.<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">CM<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Maryam<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">formally<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">approved<\/span> Air Punjab<span class=\"diff-highlight\">&#8216;<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">s<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">operations,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">starting<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">a<\/span> domestic <span class=\"diff-highlight\">airline<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-govt-announces-launch-of-air-punjab-bullet-trains\/\">Air Punjab<\/a> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">aims<\/span> to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">operate<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> four Airbus aircraft <span class=\"diff-highlight\">by<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">leasing<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">planes<\/span> to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">launch<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">airline<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">it<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">hopes<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">operate<\/span> internationally <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">long<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">as<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">it<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">has<\/span> a successful first year <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">has<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">demonstrated<\/span> service <span class=\"diff-highlight\">standards<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">International<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">operations<\/span> will depend on <span class=\"diff-highlight\">many<\/span> factors, including <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">approval<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">process<\/span> and the demand <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">airline<\/span> to prosper. The bullet train is expected to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">cut<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> travel time between <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Lahore<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Rawalpindi<\/span> to <span class=\"diff-highlight\">around<\/span> two and a half hours. Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb will <span class=\"diff-highlight\">partner<\/span> with Pakistan Railways and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">possibly<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">follow<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> public-private partnership model.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Separately<\/span>, CM Maryam Nawaz directed <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> proposals for high-speed train services on six <span class=\"diff-highlight\">new<\/span> routes <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> Punjab, including<span class=\"diff-highlight\">:<\/span> Lahore-Shahdara-Narowal<span class=\"diff-highlight\">;<\/span> Faisalabad-Chak Jhumra-Shaheenabad.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reported<\/span> progress on <span class=\"diff-highlight\">other<\/span> mass transit projects, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">including<\/span> Lahore Yellow Line and Gujranwala Mass Transit Line, with <span class=\"diff-highlight\">predicted<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">completion<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">dates<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of Air Punjab, the province&#8217;s first&#8211;ever provincial airline, and the Lahore-Rawalpindi bullet train project.
