ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the<\/span> Russian Foreign Minister<\/a> Sergei<\/span> Lavrov has extended a hand to provide<\/span>\u00a0Russia\u2019s assistance<\/span> in the<\/span> to resolve the\u00a0building tensions<\/span> between Pakistan and India over the Kashmir issue<\/a>, the Foreign Ministry reported<\/span>.<\/p>\n

This development comes after the Russian Foreign Minister had a conversation with his Pakistani counterpart and offered help to Pakistan in resolving the matter.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> ministry<\/span> said<\/span> in<\/span> a<\/span> statement<\/span>:<\/span> \u201cParticular attention is<\/span> paid to the significant rise in tension between New Delhi and Islamabad,\u201d referring to Lavrov‘<\/span>s conversation with Ishaq Dar, who is also Pakistan‘<\/span>s Deputy<\/span> Prime<\/span> Minister<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was stressed that Russia is ready to act for a political settlement of the situation stemming<\/span> from the<\/span> impulse<\/span> of<\/span> the act of terrorism of April 22 in the Pahalgam area of the Kashmir valley, pending<\/span> the mutual desire of<\/span> the parties<\/span> in<\/span> Islamabad and New Delhi,\u201d the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on Telegram.<\/p>\n

Lavrov‘<\/span>s conversation with Dar came<\/span> two days after he spoke with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and called for a resolution<\/span> of the<\/span> differences between the two neighboring<\/span> countries.<\/p>\n

According to state-run Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar discussed recent developments in<\/span> the<\/span> region<\/span> during conversations<\/span> with Lavrov. Dar rejected India\u2019s baseless allegations and inflammatory rhetoric against Pakistan.<\/p>\n

In his comments<\/span>, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov underscored<\/span> the<\/span> seriousness<\/span> of<\/span> the concerns<\/span> raised<\/span> and stressed<\/span> the need for diplomacy and restraint by all parties<\/span> involved<\/span> to\u00a0get<\/span> it<\/span> under<\/span> control<\/span>.<\/p>\n
