{"id":73170,"date":"2025-05-06T13:44:15","date_gmt":"2025-05-06T08:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=73170"},"modified":"2025-05-06T13:44:15","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T08:44:15","slug":"army-chief-takes-responsibility-for-treatment-of-pakistanis-children-sent-back-by-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/army-chief-takes-responsibility-for-treatment-of-pakistanis-children-sent-back-by-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Army Chief takes responsibility for treatment of Pakistanis children sent back by India"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_content tdi_18 td-pb-border-top td_block_template_1 td-post-content tagdiv-type\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_18\">\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has taken responsibility for the treatment of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/treatment-starts-in-afic-for-ailing-children-deported-from-india\/\">two Pakistani children<\/a> who were sent back from India following the Pahalgam attack.<\/p>\n<p>The children, residents of Hyderabad, were undergoing treatment for heart disease and were deported back to Pakistan, which their father strongly condemned and termed as Modi\u2019s inhumane act.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">Expressing his views, Shahid Ahmed said his two children were born with congenital heart disease, and he had gone to India for their treatment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">Praising General Asim Munir, he said, &#8220;I am grateful to the Army Chief for immediately arranging treatment for my children at the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC). I must say that my children are being treated at AFIC beyond my expectations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">Dr. Mehboob Sultan of AFIC said, \u201cWe currently have two children under treatment \u2014 Abdullah (9 years) and Mansa (7 years). Both suffer from congenital heart disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">He explained that the children have holes in their hearts and underdeveloped pulmonary arteries, and that their surgeries will be carried out in phases.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\u201cThe first phase of the surgery will be completed in the coming days. We treat congenital heart diseases in children at AFIC,\u201d said Dr. Mehboob.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">He said, \u201cIn my opinion, there is no need to send such children abroad, as we have already performed numerous surgeries for similar conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">Brigadier Dr. Khurram Akhtar said, \u201cAFIC is a state-of-the-art hospital under the Pakistan Army, and we treat complex heart conditions here. We have all the necessary facilities to treat children who come to us, and we perform surgeries according to international standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\u201cThe two children currently under treatment are suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot, a condition that involves complications due to narrow pulmonary arteries.
