LAHORE: Pakistan Railways<\/a> has announced that its luxury saloons<\/span>,<\/span> once<\/span> reserved for government officials,<\/span> are now open<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> public and<\/span> can<\/span> be<\/span> booked<\/span> at discounted rates.<\/p>\n

In<\/span> a statement released<\/span> on social media, the<\/span> railways<\/span> said<\/span> all<\/span> saloons are available<\/span> for passenger booking<\/span> following<\/span> years<\/span> of<\/span> restriction<\/span> to<\/span> the Prime Minister<\/a>, federal ministers, the Chairman Railway, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), and Inspector Generals of Police (IGs).<\/p>\n

The recently<\/span> announced discounted fares include Rs600,000 for the PM<\/span> Saloon from Karachi to Lahore, and Rs150,000\u00a0from Islamabad to Lahore.<\/p>\n

Other saloon<\/span> fares<\/span><\/a> are<\/span> Rs400,000 from Karachi to Lahore, and Rs100,000 from Islamabad to Lahore. Railway officials mention<\/span> that these luxury coaches have<\/span> all<\/span> the<\/span> latest<\/span> amenities, more<\/span> privacy, and the ability<\/span> to<\/span> travel in<\/span> style<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

They<\/span> will be<\/span> offered<\/span> on<\/span> Routes<\/span> from<\/span> Islamabad\u2013Lahore, Karachi\u2013Lahore, Lahore\u2013Karachi, and Lahore\u2013Islamabad. The decision was made<\/span> by Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi after<\/span> instruction<\/span> from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,<\/span> for<\/span> the<\/span> public<\/span> to also<\/span> experience<\/span> a<\/span> luxury<\/span> travel<\/span> facility<\/span>,<\/span> and to<\/span> make<\/span> the best<\/span> use of Pakistan Railways facilities<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Pakistan Railways also announced that they<\/span> will<\/span> install automated teller machines (ATMs) of various commercial banks at various<\/span> railway stations of<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pakistan Railways spokesperson stated<\/span> that the implementation<\/span> process has<\/span> already commenced<\/span> in collaboration<\/span> with some\u00a0banks. The process<\/span> will begin<\/span> at the<\/span> key stations,<\/span> and once<\/span> completed<\/span>, encompass<\/span> a<\/span> wider<\/span> range<\/span> of<\/span> stations<\/span> in<\/span> the<\/span> country<\/span>,<\/span> ultimately<\/span> providing<\/span> more<\/span> access<\/span> and<\/span> convenience for travelers<\/span> on<\/span> Pakistan<\/span> Railways<\/span>.<\/p>\n
