ISLAMABAD: Recently<\/span>,<\/span> citizens of<\/span> Pakistan<\/span> celebrated<\/span> May 1 as<\/span> a<\/span> public<\/span> holiday<\/span> called<\/span> International Labourers<\/span>\u2019 Day<\/a> to recognize<\/span> the<\/span> work<\/span> of<\/span> the labourers. The federal government has published<\/span> its<\/span> public and optional holidays plan<\/span> for 2025.<\/p>\n

The notification contains<\/span> details regarding holidays for the<\/span> festival<\/span> celebrations<\/span> for<\/span> Muslims and minorities. Public<\/span> holidays will<\/span> are published<\/span> for<\/span> the<\/span> publication<\/span> of<\/span> significant events<\/span> for<\/span> the year.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> official notification for calendar year 2025 mentions<\/span> two public holidays<\/a> in May 2025. One of these<\/span> holidays<\/span> is<\/span> the<\/span> already<\/span> mentioned<\/span> May 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

Public Holiday<\/h2>\n

The<\/span> next<\/span> public<\/span> holidays<\/span> for<\/span> citizens of<\/span> Pakistan<\/span> are<\/span> May 28,<\/span> 2025<\/span> (Wednesday) for<\/span> Youm-e-Takbeer. Youm-e-Takbeer is celebrated<\/span> every year on<\/span> the<\/span> date<\/span> of the<\/span> nuclear tests that<\/span> were<\/span> conducted on May 28, 1998.<\/span><\/p>\n

These<\/span> tests<\/span> made the defence<\/span> of Pakistan<\/span> invincible. It<\/span> is<\/span> on<\/span> this<\/span> day that<\/span> Pakistan became<\/span> the seventh<\/span> nuclear nation of the world and the first Muslim nation<\/span> to<\/span> enter<\/span> into<\/span> the nuclear arsenal of<\/span> national<\/span> defence<\/span> stockpiles<\/span> for<\/span> purposes<\/span> of<\/span> maximum deterrence for peaceful purposes.<\/p>\n

The historic statement by<\/span> former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto that they would starve but make<\/span> the country a nuclear power led to the<\/span> milestone.<\/p>\n
