{"id":74271,"date":"2025-05-13T21:00:46","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T16:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=74271"},"modified":"2025-05-13T21:00:46","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T16:00:46","slug":"ihc-to-hear-imran-khans-parole-plea-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ihc-to-hear-imran-khans-parole-plea-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"IHC to hear Imran Khan\u2019s parole plea tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ihc-bans-parcel-delivery-services-in-educational-institutions\/\">IHC<\/a>) has fixed a hearing date for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur\u2019s petition for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/imran-khan-held-in-solitary-confinement-without-medical-access-qasim-khan\/\">Imran Khan<\/a> on parole.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing will be held tomorrow despite several objections raised by the Registrar\u2019s Office, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>The petition was filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, seeking the temporary release of Imran Khan citing the prevailing situation in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar will preside over the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Registrar\u2019s Office, the petition has several procedural flaws. One major objection is that the petition was not filed by the affected individual himself.<\/p>\n<p>The office questioned how such relief could be sought on behalf of someone else. Another major issue raised was that PTI founder Imran Khan, whose parole is being sought, was not made a party to the petition.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the registrar pointed out that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), in whose case Imran Khan was convicted, was also not included as a party in the petition. Moreover, the petition does not contain the complete addresses of the respondents.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the registrar\u2019s office had directed the petitioner to correct these objections and re-file the petition. Despite these unresolved issues, the case has now been adjourned for hearing tomorrow, with the objections still attached.<\/p>\n<p>On May 9, 2025, Ali Amin Gandapur filed a constitutional petition in the IHC seeking release on parole in all cases against PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.<\/p>\n<p>Gandapur filed the petition through his lawyers Latif Khosa and Shahbaz Khosa, arguing that the current national security situation in Pakistan necessitated extraordinary measures.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the threat posed by the unprovoked aggression by the Modi-led Indian government, including a series of drone strikes on various cities, which according to Gandapur, have put Imran Khan\u2019s life in danger.<\/p>\n<p>In his petition, Gandapur claimed that during Khan\u2019s tenure as Prime Minister, relations between Pakistan and India deteriorated significantly, with Khan openly challenging the policies of the Modi government.<\/p>\n<p>He asserted that Modi was repeatedly embarrassed by Imran Khan on both national and international platforms, especially on issues of utmost importance to Pakistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed a hearing date for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur\u2019s petition for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on parole.
