LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will<\/span> officially<\/span> start the distribution of laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop Program<\/a> 2025 today, May 14, in Faisalabad.<\/p>\n

A ceremony for the distributions will take<\/span> place<\/span> at the Government College, Faisalabad, as the provincial government is<\/span> targeting<\/span> the<\/span> empowerment<\/span> of<\/span> Youth while<\/span> aiming<\/span> to<\/span> bridge<\/span> the digital gap<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The chief minister will be<\/span> giving<\/span> out<\/span> laptops featuring a 13th Gen Core i7 processor, an<\/span> SSD<\/span>, and high-speed RAM to students to<\/span> start<\/span> the distribution process. The government is<\/span> planning<\/span> to distribute a<\/span> total of<\/span> 110,000 laptops in phases across the Punjab.<\/p>\n

CM Laptop Program Merit Lists 2025<\/h2>\n

The Phase<\/span> 1<\/span> selected candidates’ lists<\/span> <\/a>are<\/span> live<\/span> on the official website. The laptop\u00a0will<\/span> be<\/span> provided<\/span> free<\/span> of<\/span> cost<\/span> to<\/span> eligible BS (1st<\/span> & 2nd Semester) students<\/span> in all<\/span> Public Sector HED Colleges, Universities<\/span>, Medical & Dental Colleges.<\/p>\n

Private<\/span> college\u00a0students<\/span> are not eligible to apply for this<\/span> scheme. The objectives<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> initiative<\/span> are<\/span> educational uplift<\/span>, digital inclusiveness<\/span>, skill development, and economic empowerment of\u00a0the<\/span> youth of<\/span> the province.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> Higher Education Department has recently<\/span> announced that<\/span> it<\/span> is<\/span> collaborating<\/span> with<\/span> the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for biometric verification of applicants to keep<\/span> transparency in the free laptop scheme.<\/p>\n

NADRA<\/span> has started providing<\/span> the services at e-Sahulat Centres from April 24, while HEC<\/span> will be paying<\/span> for<\/span> the thumb<\/span> verification<\/span>. The Commission has directed the educational institutions to ensure\u00a0contact<\/span> biometric verification of the students who applied for the free<\/span> laptop<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
