SBP Chief Spokesperson Noor Ahmed clarified that the central bank <span class=\"diff-highlight\">had<\/span> issued no such notification.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">His<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">comments<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">followed<\/span> a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/climate-change-ministry-denounces-fake-radiological-safety-bulletin-on-social-media\/\">fake notice<\/a> circulating on social media and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">certain<\/span> news platforms that <span class=\"diff-highlight\">claimed<\/span> marked currency notes would <span class=\"diff-highlight\">no<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">longer<\/span> be legal tender <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">new<\/span> fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson <span class=\"diff-highlight\">stressed<\/span> that currency notes are a national asset and should be <span class=\"diff-highlight\">treated<\/span> with care\u00a0<span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">preservation,<\/span> but <span class=\"diff-highlight\">contrary<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">misleading<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">viral<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">information<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">they<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">do<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">not<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">prohibit<\/span> the use of <span class=\"diff-highlight\">currency<\/span> notes with pen <span class=\"diff-highlight\">marks<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has dismissed allegations that Pakistani Rupee (PKR) currency notes containing pen marks or writing will become invalid as a method of payment from July 1, 2025.
