KARACHI: In a recent development, the Sindh Chief Minister<\/a>, Syed Murad Ali Shah, stated on Friday that seven people from the province died in the recent Indian aggression.<\/p>\n

According to the details, the deceased included six Pakistan Air Force<\/a> personnel located in Bolari and one civilian, Mukhtiar Leghari, from Ghotki.<\/p>\n

During the flag-hoisting ceremony at the New Sindh Secretariat for a special observance known as the Pakistan National Day of Gratitude<\/a>, commemorating the successful response to Indian aggression against Pakistan, the chief minister announced that he will provide at least Rs. 10 million for each martyr’s family and Rs. 1 million for the injured people.<\/p>\n

Adressing the ceremony, Shah praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces while specifically noting, “It is the foremost duty of every citizen of Pakistan to defend the territorial integrity of the homeland,” stating he was proud of the nation’s armed forces and mobilized citizens for their courage and unity to provide a unified response.<\/p>\n

Shah congratulated the Sindh people for their patriotism and resilience. The Chief Minister emphasized<\/span> the crucial<\/span> role that<\/span> the<\/span> youth<\/span> of<\/span> Sindh have<\/span> played<\/span> in protecting<\/span> and<\/span> safeguarding the nation, as<\/span> well<\/span> as<\/span> reiterated<\/span> the province‘<\/span>s commitment<\/span>,<\/span> alongside<\/span> the armed forces,<\/span> to<\/span> face<\/span> any<\/span> external threats to<\/span> Pakistan<\/span>.<\/p>\n

He made<\/span> it<\/span> clear<\/span> that the people of Sindh continue<\/span> to be<\/span> vigilant<\/span> against<\/span> hostile agendas and are ready<\/span> to<\/span> defend<\/span> national interests. When<\/span> asked<\/span> about<\/span> the<\/span> engagement<\/span>, Shah stated<\/span> that it<\/span> was<\/span> part of a bigger<\/span> national process<\/span> initiated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that<\/span> day<\/span>.<\/p>\n

He added that he would later pay tribute<\/span> at the Martyrs‘<\/span> Monument in Malir Cantonment and also<\/span> take<\/span> part<\/span> in a special session of<\/span> the Sindh Assembly for<\/span> national unity and to<\/span> pay<\/span> tribute<\/span> to<\/span> Pakistan‘<\/span>s success<\/span> in<\/span> defence<\/span>.<\/p>\n

On<\/span> the upcoming provincial budget, Shah responded<\/span> that<\/span> it is being prepared<\/span> under PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari‘<\/span>s<\/span> leadership<\/span>.<\/p>\n

It is<\/span> important<\/span> to<\/span> note<\/span> that some<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> priorities are<\/span> clean drinking water, sanitation, solar energy, health<\/span>, education, and restoring<\/span> the<\/span> significant<\/span> infrastructure damage<\/span> caused<\/span> by flooding<\/span>.<\/p>\n

While<\/span> admitting<\/span> that<\/span> some<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> economic problems<\/span> we<\/span> are<\/span> facing<\/span> stem<\/span> from<\/span> the IMF<\/span> deal<\/span>,<\/span> he<\/span> assured that the government would<\/span> present<\/span> a budget that accommodates<\/span> the<\/span> public’s felt<\/span> needs of<\/span> the<\/span> provinces<\/span> and encourages<\/span> welfare.<\/p>\n
