ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Spokesperson, Director General (DG) of Inter Services Public Relations<\/a> (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif has said India is running<\/span> a<\/span> terrorism in this region.<\/p>\n

In<\/span> an exclusive interview with RT Arabia, DG<\/span> ISPR<\/span> made<\/span> these<\/span> comments,<\/span> saying that to<\/span> understand<\/span> the<\/span> Indo<\/span>–<\/span>Pak<\/span> tension<\/span>,<\/span> you<\/span> have<\/span> to go into the background of the matter<\/span>.<\/p>\n

“<\/span>India is hiding behind a fake<\/span> narrative to cover up\u00a0the truth,“<\/span> he said, adding that the Indian media started blaming<\/span> Pakistan within<\/span> a few minutes<\/span> of<\/span> the Pahalgam incident.<\/p>\n

“<\/span>The Indian foreign ministry<\/a> spokesperson said<\/span> two days later that the investigation is still going<\/span> on<\/span>,“<\/span> DG ISPR said. It<\/span> does<\/span> not<\/span> make<\/span> sense to<\/span> raise<\/span> allegations without investigation and evidence, he said, adding that the evidence of the Pahalgam incident should be given to an independent<\/span> agency<\/span>.<\/p>\n

“<\/span>We are ready to cooperate, but India unilaterally<\/span> acted<\/span> and fired missiles<\/span> at our mosques. Children, women, and elderly people<\/span> were martyred in the Indian attack,“<\/span> he added.<\/p>\n

“<\/span>India is the biggest<\/span> sponsor of terrorism in Pakistan, whether it<\/span> is<\/span> Khawarij or terrorist groups active in Balochistan,“<\/span> said<\/span> Ahmed Sharif.<\/p>\n

DG ISPR mentioned<\/span> to<\/span> RT Arabia that India had<\/span> attacked on the night of May 6 and 7,<\/span> and<\/span> that<\/span> the Pakistan Air Force<\/a> (PAF) had<\/span> shot down five Indian aircraft.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nation and the Pakistani forces faced<\/span> India<\/span> like an iron wall. The enemy has<\/span> fired more missiles on the night of May 9 and 10 to scare us. They forget<\/span> that the nation of Pakistan and its forces never bow down and<\/span> cannot<\/span> be made to bow down,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn May 10, Pakistan very responsibly and carefully attacked<\/span> only Indian military targets,\u201d DG ISPR said, \u201cNot a single civilian target was struck<\/span>. This was an appropriate, fair, and balanced response.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif also reiterated that it was the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of Defense himself who<\/span> came to<\/span> ask<\/span> for<\/span> a ceasefire. \u201cWe want peace and stability, and<\/span> so we thought,<\/span> why not.<\/p>\n

Pakistan has also done amazing<\/span> work on the diplomacy<\/span> front, and they<\/span> have<\/span> engaged the international community. We are not a violent nation, but we are a serious nation. Pakistan\u2019s priority is peace,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
