PTA<\/span>,<\/span> Pakistan‘<\/span>s telecom authority,<\/span> laid<\/span> down<\/span> aggressive taxation in previous years, creating<\/span> a<\/span> spike<\/span> in<\/span> smartphone<\/span> pricing<\/span>\u00a0and making<\/span> it<\/span> difficult<\/span> for many consumers to<\/span> afford<\/span> one<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The<\/span> governments<\/span>‘<\/span> reasons<\/span> are<\/span> to regulate imports and offer<\/span> the<\/span> local industries<\/span> protection<\/span>, but<\/span> experts point<\/span> out<\/span> this<\/span> could slow smartphone adoption\u00a0and deteriorate<\/span> the tech marketplace<\/span>.<\/p>\n

iPhone 16 also remains among the<\/span> most<\/span> expensive devices in Pakistan,<\/span> but there<\/span> has<\/span> been<\/span> some<\/span> minor<\/span> positive<\/span> news<\/span> as<\/span> recent<\/span> local distributors have made<\/span> some<\/span> adjustments<\/span> to<\/span> their<\/span> pricing<\/span>,<\/span> relieving<\/span> some<\/span> of<\/span> the<\/span> pressure<\/span> on<\/span> consumers<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> taxation<\/span> for the Apple<\/span> iPhone 16 is<\/span> also different<\/span> if<\/span> the<\/span> device<\/span> owner<\/span> obtained<\/span> their<\/span> device<\/span> with<\/span> a passport or a local ID.<\/p>\n
