RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium<\/a> will showcase<\/span> a<\/span> pink hue<\/span> for the 30th match<\/span> of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 between the<\/span> Islamabad United and Karachi Kings on Monday, 19 May, according<\/span> to<\/span> a<\/span> statement<\/span> from<\/span> the Pakistan Cricket Board<\/a> (PCB).<\/p>\n

“<\/span>As part of its corporate social responsibility, the PSL is supporting the Pink Ribbon campaign to raise<\/span> awareness about breast cancer,“<\/span> the<\/span> PCB<\/span> said<\/span> in<\/span> a<\/span> press<\/span> release<\/span>.<\/p>\n

In<\/span> the<\/span> past<\/span>, the PSL held<\/span> Childhood Cancer Awareness Day<\/a> on 3 May in<\/span> the 23rd match at<\/span> the Gaddafi<\/span> Stadium<\/span> in<\/span> Lahore<\/span> between the<\/span> Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.<\/p>\n

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer stated<\/span>,<\/span> “<\/span>The<\/span> PSL has always been<\/span> a<\/span> responsible<\/span> citizen<\/span> by raising<\/span> awareness for<\/span> health-related issues and supporting causes that<\/span> are<\/span> dear<\/span> to<\/span> them<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> issues<\/span> around<\/span> breast<\/span> cancer touch<\/span> many lives, and it is<\/span> imperative<\/span> that<\/span>,<\/span> as<\/span> a<\/span> society<\/span>,<\/span> we<\/span> work<\/span> to ensure<\/span> that<\/span> early detection is<\/span> a<\/span> priority<\/span> and provide<\/span> support for<\/span> those impacted<\/span>.“<\/span><\/p>\n

In<\/span> the course<\/span> of<\/span> play<\/span> on<\/span> 19 May, Islamabad United would<\/span> don<\/span> specially designed pink-themed kits as<\/span> the\u00a0home<\/span> side<\/span> hosts<\/span>. The<\/span> Karachi Kings and match officials will all<\/span> don<\/span> pink caps in support<\/span> of<\/span> the cause. Also<\/span>,<\/span> throughout<\/span> the<\/span> match<\/span>, players, match officials, coaching staff,<\/span> and commentators will wear pink ribbons.<\/p>\n

The stumps for the Rawalpindi fixture will be pink. The<\/span> venue<\/span> will also have<\/span> breast<\/span> cancer<\/span> awareness<\/span> messages<\/span> on all<\/span> digital screens and LED perimeter boards as<\/span> part<\/span> of<\/span> Breast<\/span> Cancer<\/span> Awareness<\/span> Month<\/span> –<\/span> the campaign<\/span> will<\/span> raise awareness and provide useful<\/span> information about the disease.<\/p>\n

The<\/span> commentators<\/span> will also<\/span> be<\/span> providing<\/span> awareness messages as<\/span> part<\/span> of<\/span> their<\/span> live<\/span> commentary<\/span>. In<\/span> a<\/span> further<\/span> partnership with Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital (DHQ), every ticket purchased<\/span> for Monday\u2019s fixture will also<\/span> be<\/span> a voucher for a free patient<\/span> examination and screening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
