{"id":74858,"date":"2025-05-19T16:58:25","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T11:58:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=74858"},"modified":"2025-05-19T16:58:25","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T11:58:25","slug":"police-arrests-over-3000-for-flying-kites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/police-arrests-over-3000-for-flying-kites\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arrests over 3000 for flying kites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: A <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-govt-to-establish-tourism-police-force\/\">Punjab Police<\/a> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">spokesperson<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">said<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">that<\/span> 3,375 <span class=\"diff-highlight\">people<\/span> have been arrested <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> the province <span class=\"diff-highlight\">related<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> the Anti-Kite Flying Act <span class=\"diff-highlight\">violations<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">this<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">year<\/span>, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">which<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">has<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">included<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">3<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">301<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">FIR<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">cases<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">seized<\/span> 446,506 kites and 15,888 spools of kite string. <span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">number<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">challans<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">associated<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> these cases <span class=\"diff-highlight\">includes<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">3<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">060<\/span>. In Lahore alone <span class=\"diff-highlight\">this<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">year<\/span> police <span class=\"diff-highlight\">have<\/span> arrested 1,010 <span class=\"diff-highlight\">people<\/span>, registered 991 cases and seized 24,824 kites <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> 1,168 <span class=\"diff-highlight\">string<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">spools<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In <span class=\"diff-highlight\">contrast<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">prior<\/span> year<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">there<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">were<\/span> 12,525 arrests and 11,866 cases across Lahore and the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">entire<\/span> rest of Punjab for <span class=\"diff-highlight\">kite<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">flying<\/span> violations.<\/p>\n<p>The Inspector General of Punjab has <span class=\"diff-highlight\">indicated<\/span> that the amended <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/punjab-bans-kite-flying-across-province-under-new-law\/\">Kite Flying Prohibition Bill<\/a> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">would<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">be<\/span> enforced <span class=\"diff-highlight\">professionally<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">he<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">directed<\/span> Regional Police Officers (RPOs), City Police Officers (CPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs)<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">undertake<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">a<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">more<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">vigorous<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">approach<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">and<\/span> operations against <span class=\"diff-highlight\">individuals<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">or<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">groups<\/span> who manufacture, sell or <span class=\"diff-highlight\">participate<\/span> in kite flying.<\/p>\n<p>He <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">emphasized<\/span> that <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> life-threatening practice <span class=\"diff-highlight\">cannot<\/span> be <span class=\"diff-highlight\">allowed<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> any <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reason<\/span><span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">saying<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">to<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">take<\/span> a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-offers-zero-tariff-bilateral-trade-on-selected-items-to-us\/\">zero-toleranc<\/a>e <span class=\"diff-highlight\">method<\/span>. <span class=\"diff-highlight\">He<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">stated<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">while<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">discussing<\/span> the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">bill<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">that<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">legal<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">action<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">is<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">correct<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">course<\/span> of <span class=\"diff-highlight\">action<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">for<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">any<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">person<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">who<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">engages<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">the<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">online<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">selling<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">of<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">kites<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">metallic<\/span>, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">or<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">dangerous<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">string<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: A Punjab Police spokesperson said that 3,375 people have been arrested in the province related to the Anti-Kite Flying Act violations this year, which has also included 3,301 FIR cases.
