{"id":74863,"date":"2025-05-19T17:20:15","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T12:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=74863"},"modified":"2025-05-19T17:20:15","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T12:20:15","slug":"bcci-refutes-claims-of-withdrawal-from-asia-cup-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/sports\/bcci-refutes-claims-of-withdrawal-from-asia-cup-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"BCCI refutes claims of withdrawal from Asia Cup 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/sports\/indian-premier-league-to-be-postponed-by-bcci\/\">(BCCI)<\/a> has refuted claims of pulling out from the Asia Cup 2025 and the Women\u2019s Emerging Teams <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/asian-carriers-cancel-reroute-flights-due-to-pakistan-india-hostilities\/\">Asia Cup.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that no communication has been made as of now with the Asian Cricket Council regarding any withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince this morning, some news reports have claimed that BCCI has decided not to participate in the Asia Cup and the Women\u2019s Emerging Teams Asia Cup,\u201d said Saikia. \u201cSuch news is completely false. The BCCI has neither held discussions on this matter nor communicated any decision to the ACC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the <em>Indian Express<\/em> quoted a BCCI official saying that \u201cTeam India can\u2019t compete in a tournament that is organised by the ACC, whose head is a Pakistani minister. We have to respect the sentiments of our people.<\/p>\n<p>We have verbally communicated to the ACC about our decision to pull out from the Women\u2019s Emerging Teams Asia Cup and other events.
