{"id":75071,"date":"2025-05-21T14:41:14","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T09:41:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=75071"},"modified":"2025-05-21T14:48:34","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T09:48:34","slug":"25-passenger-injured-as-shalimar-express-derails-near-chak-jhumra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/25-passenger-injured-as-shalimar-express-derails-near-chak-jhumra\/","title":{"rendered":"25 passenger injured as Shalimar Express derails near Chak Jhumra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CHAK JHUMRA: At least <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/130-passengers-rescued-after-boat-gets-stuck-in-mud-at-tarbela-dam\/\">25 passengers<\/a>, including the train driver and his assistant, were injured when a tractor-trolley collided with the train in the early hours of Wednesday morning near Chak Jhumra Tehsil of Faisalabad, according to media reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Shalimar Express was en route to Lahore from Faisalabad when it collided with the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/four-died16-injured-as-tractor-trolley-fell-into-a-deep-gorge-in-gilgit\/\">tractor-trolley<\/a> stranded on the railway\u00a0crossing near Chak No.142-RB Chuti Ghartal.<\/p>\n<p>The Tractor was parked on the train track as it was out of fuel, resulting in the derailment of two of the coaches, as per the initial reports.<\/p>\n<p>After being alerted, local police and rescue personnel hurried to the scene in order to save the passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Several injured people received first aid on the spot by Rescue 1122, and the seriously injured were sent to THQ Hospital Chak Jhumra for more medical care.<\/p>\n<p>Due to damage to the railway track, all services from Faisalabad to Lahore and Wazirabad were suspended indefinitely, and train traffic between Sahianwala and Salarwala was suspended.<\/p>\n<p>The Railway track shallow be functional till night said Superintendent of Railway Tariq Latif, adding that 10 teams are busy repairing the damage area of the track.<\/p>\n<p>The injured persons were shifted to the hospital while the driver of the trolley escaped from the scene.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CHAK JHUMRA: At least 25 passengers, including the train driver and his assistant, were injured when a tractor-trolley collided with the train in the early hours of Wednesday morning near Chak Jhumra Tehsil of Faisalabad, according to media reports.
