{"id":75111,"date":"2025-05-21T19:08:28","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T14:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=75111"},"modified":"2025-05-21T19:08:46","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T14:08:46","slug":"govt-reduces-profit-rates-on-national-savings-schemes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-reduces-profit-rates-on-national-savings-schemes\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt reduces profit rates on National Savings Schemes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Directorate of National Savings has announced a <span class=\"diff-highlight\">decrease<\/span> in profit rates <span class=\"diff-highlight\">in<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">several<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/us-warns-indian-nationals-of-deportation-permanent-visa-ban-heres-why\/\"> National Savings Schemes\u00a0<\/a>(NSS) with reductions <span class=\"diff-highlight\">ranging<\/span> up to 100 basis points, effective from May 21, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"diff-highlight\">largest<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reduction<\/span> was to the <span class=\"diff-highlight\">savings<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">account<\/span> (SA) <span class=\"diff-highlight\">with<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">rates<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">being<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reduced<\/span> by 100 basis points, <span class=\"diff-highlight\">decreasing<\/span> from 10.5 percent to 9.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">The<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">following<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">changes<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">were<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">also<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">made in the National Savings Scheme, including<\/span>: <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/behbood-savings-certificates-check-latest-profit-rate-for-april-2025\/\">Special <span class=\"diff-highlight\">savings<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">certificates<\/span><\/a> (SSC) and Special <span class=\"diff-highlight\">savings<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">accounts<\/span> (SSA) were <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reduced<\/span> by 30 basis points to 10.90 percent. Regular <span class=\"diff-highlight\">income<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">certificates<\/span> (RIC)<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reduced<\/span> by 18 basis points to 11.52 percent.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"diff-highlight\">Defense<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">savings<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">certificates<\/span> (DSC)<span class=\"diff-highlight\">,<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reduced<\/span> by 21 basis points to 11.91 percent. Bahbood <span class=\"diff-highlight\">savings<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">certificates<\/span> (BSC), Pensioner <span class=\"diff-highlight\">benefit<\/span> Account (PBA), and <span class=\"diff-highlight\">Shuhada<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">family<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">welfare<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">account<\/span> (SFWA) <span class=\"diff-highlight\">all<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">reduced<\/span> by 24 basis points to 13.44 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Sarwa Islamic <span class=\"diff-highlight\">term<\/span> <span class=\"diff-highlight\">account<\/span> (SITA) 10.44 percent to 10.34 percent.
