PESHAWAR: In a groundbreaking move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched<\/span> a new life insurance scheme <\/a>aimed at providing financial help<\/span> to citizens.<\/p>\n

KP Information Advisor Barrister Saif stated<\/span> the provincial cabinet has approved a<\/span> program<\/span> to<\/span> provide<\/span> life insurance coverage<\/span> for<\/span> citizens<\/span> at<\/span> an<\/span> estimated<\/span> annual<\/span> cost of<\/span> Rs 4.5 billion.<\/p>\n

He said<\/span> that if<\/span> the head<\/span> of a household dies<\/span>, immediate<\/span> financial<\/span> assistance<\/span><\/a> would<\/span> be<\/span> made<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> family<\/span>. Under the scheme,<\/span> families of deceased heads of households under the age of 60 will receive Rs 1 million, and<\/span> families of those over the<\/span> age<\/span> of 60<\/span> will receive<\/span> Rs 500,000.<\/p>\n

Earlier, in its initiatives to promote tourism,<\/a>\u00a0the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to build picnic points on various dams across the province, according to media reports.<\/p>\n

The picnic spots will be built on Naryab Dam in Hangu,\u00a0Kundal Dam<\/a>\u00a0in Swabi, and Chatri Dam in Haripur district in the first phase, according to Director General of Tourism and Culture Authority Habibullah Arif.<\/p>\n

The development is part of broader initiatives to boost tourism and infrastructure for visitors at famous dams in the province, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working to develop picnic areas at various dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that tourists can enjoy these scenic locations with comfort and ease,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The DG emphasized the efforts of the provincial government in providing the best tourist spots to the residents of the province.<\/p>\n

He said the picnic spots will include walking tracks, tuck shops, restrooms, and other facilities for people visiting these areas to enjoy the natural beauty.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department prohibited instructional field excursions and picnics for government school students.<\/p>\n
